When I press on the gas to accelerate I noticed that I heard a squeal coming from the engine. Could it be worn out belts, or do I need a new pulley?

worn belts. visually inspect them, and if you find cracks, discoloration (not ink), or even a groove thats been chewed up (like my alternator belt...), then dont walk, run to the auto parts store (you may drive if you see fit also...) and pick up some new belts. if you dont have an underdrive pulley, then just order the belts you need. if you have an underdrive pulley, then you should probably check with whatever company you bought the pulley from for the correct belt sizes since underdrive pulleys are small in diameter

are the belts from Autozone or Checkers good to use, or should I buy it from the dealer?

dealer is usually deemed best, but the belts from the other places should work fine
