Ever since I installed my intake and exhaust x-pipe I get this squealing sound when I hit the gas pedal pretty aggressively. It doesn't do it when I leave the line slowly, only when I hit it more than half throttle.

The sound is high pitched and seems to be coming from the rear of the car, it happens more when I have the VDC off. Sometimes it's a long squeal, other times it kinda chirps like a bird. It even did it too me once while shifting into second gear. And here's the really weird part, when it makes this noise it seems that the rear suspension gets a little squirrely.

Does anyone have any idea what this strange noise could be?

mine has a very high pitch squealing, coming from the rear passenger side. I think it is coming from the speaker. Probabbly not the same issue as yours though.

One of the wires must not be grounded or something. I still have the Elite warranty for another 8K miles, so I am going to get it fixed along with the known trunk problem, the squeaky seat rail and the oil consumption test.

It could be your tires due to too much throttle and too little traction.

I took the car to the dealer and confirmed that the amount of throttle I give the car will actually cause the rear tires to loose traction and that was the noise I was hearing - btw this was a joke thread

That's what I thought - enjoy the improved performance.

I've read in some technical manuals that if you encounter this "noise", and if you notice a slight to moderate "burning rubber" smell, then you have what some experts claim as Excited Delivery, or ED. Common symptoms are: Pushing the accelerator more than necessary when the light turns green, intentionally turning the wheel into a curve while punching the accelerator, looking into the rear view mirror and counting to 5.5 seconds while leaving an intersection to see how quickly that Volvo disappears into infinity, etc.

The only known cure is when you purchase a new set of 4 tires...then the squealing will become few and far between...only when it's necessary, like when you feel the urge to teach that domestic car next to you at the stoplight some respect that is giving you that 'nudge' at the intersection...

You must have a really heavy right foot. lolI'm sure you get terrible gas mileage with that kind of foot. The M45 really likes to break loose especially with VDC off.
