Ok 93 240sx kade.... I have loss of hp almost like a major hesitation at times. Like im goin through the rpm range normally but sometimes it wont move like it should. I just got the clutch replaced. After the clutch was replaced i heard a whinning noise everytime i put it in gear. Its worse when i first start driving. I also noticed since it was replaced that its really hard to get into 2nd gear at times and to put it in reverse after a fresh start i need to pump the clutch a few times to avoid that whinning noise. I figured it was just the clutch line had to be bled and it would go away but it was still there..... I delt with it cause i have no time to keep taking this thing to the shop. Now i also have a loud squeal goin on sometimes when i accelerate fast. As soon as i take it out of gear it stops then i can put it back in gear and continue driving fine with no squeal..... Also about a week or so ago i hear the engine making a clanking noise after 2500rpm.... This is a seperate issue i need fixed so il post another topic on that.... Anyways i took it to the mechanic shop (a different one this time) and left the car there to see if they can find out the engine clank noise... Well i get a call and the guy at the shop sais there was something loose in the clutch... Ok i told him to over look that and listen to the motor... He said the motor problem was something in the bottom end. I said ok im gona take the car to the shop where i got the clutch replace and have them look at the clutch since its still under warranty... The guy there told me there was nothing wrong with it. So before i go back in there and raise all kinds of hell with these people i need to confirm that its the clutch. What can be wrong with the clutch?

Please Help and sorry its so long but i figured i had to fill you in completly to get a good answer....

Thanx in advanceGIO

Have you checked the fluid level in the transmission and differential. Most whinning sounds would come from the diff.

No i havent but the shop has. They say its fine. Also said that it sounds like the synchronizer in the transmission. Is this possible? How much would it cost to fix? Im trying to get to chicago from georgia. Will i make it????? LOL

"I found the problem... theres a loose nut between the steering wheel and the drivers seat." BRILLIANT

Have you checked the belts, they whine too. Drain the fluid from the transmission if it is you syncronizers there would be metal fragments on the plug. The inside of the drain plug is magnetized for this reason. The syncros are also called dog gears. Blip the throttle the syncros are there for smoother engagement is shifting.

Thank you for the info. How much would a mechanic charge to check and change the oil. Also do you think it will make it 1000 miles like this?

Thanks GIO
