Lately my steering wheel has been making squeaking sound whenever I turn it. Any ideas? Is there possibly a bearing on the steering column that I need to replace?

possibly rubbing your trim mounted behind the wheel?

Checked it, and nope that's not it, it has about a quarter of an inch of space all around the trim.

My Chilton's doesn't show any type of bearing or anything below the wheel, maybe that's why I don't use it for much.

I'm not sure, because the sound appears to be coming from inside, but I'll check the level when I get out of class.

Well I messed with mine & I removed the plastic steering column & noticed the noise coming from where the wheel was not in the steering column. Still squeaks but I'm going to work on it some more tomorrow.

I'll be sure to look at that Darrell.

In the meantime, I noticed that my power steering fluid WAS low, so I bought some fluid for it and put it in, so far the squeaking is still there but we'll see after a while.
