My '90 Q45 is experiencing a very loud, low pitched "squeak" on the front passenger side above the wheel. It changes and is somewhat intermittent. I assume that the shocks that are on my car now are the original. What shocks are best for my Q? Any input on my problem is appreciated.

Amazing Jesda, your old Q came to life and posted on NICO![/inside joke]

Mandy, your problem sounds like upper links. Do a search for 'q45 upper links' or something of the sort and you'll find threads about replacement. It's quite easy. Welcome to NICO!

EDIT: To answer your question about shocks, Tokico HP Series (aka Tokico Blues) can be had on ebay for around $250 and usually free shipping. I have a set on my 90 right now. No complaints. That's the cheapest I've seen them too...

I replaced my upper links, because my car wouldn't pass the local " " inspection until I had them done, but mine didn't make noise.

Be sure to replace rubber parts at the same time to save labor and protect the shocks. No good replacing shocks if old rubber is used or other suspension components are defective. Shock start to go at rear first after 60K miles. RF upper link usually goes first, but best to replace in pairs.
