Good morning... new owner of a '14 Rogue. It took me 3 weeks and 1700 miles to determine that the constant rattles and squeaks in the rear are coming from the rear door. It's loose enough to recreate the noise by pushing and pulling on the hatch from the outside. I can't see any 'bumper' adjustments that are typical on a deck lid (at least on Fords). It won't be a problem to duplicate the noise for the service guys because it's constant.

My question before I take it in is whether or not it's a common problem, and if so, are they concerned about fixing it? Haven't owned a Nissan in 20 years, and that was a completely trouble free Sentra... so no experience with Nissan service. Thanks for any info...

A rattling sound? have you checked the bump stoppers around your door? usually are made of rubber they might be missing , easy fix about $5 at the dealer, i had happened with my hatch good luck!

They probably aren't missing, they just need to be adjusted. Turn each it so it comes out a little more and keep testing by closing the hatch and if you get to where you cannot close it you unscrewed them too much.

Do a search there is another thread here on the previous gen Rogue that had the same thing.

Okay... I figured out how to adjust them. We'll see if it works. I was trying to just turn the whole rubber thingy without realizing I needed to loosen the nut that tightens it down.

Thanks.

Just wanted to report that the primary driver says the noise is gone. I had to back out the adjustment bumpers a LOT... probably 3/8".

I was having the squeak problem a while back. Most definitely a squeak (I was having a rattle but that turned out to be the tow hook). Coming from the hatch area. In my case it went away by itself after 2 weeks.
