i just replaced all my brake pads and the brakes are squeaking. so i looked at all the pads and made sure they are in correctly, i looked at the metal brackets holding the pads in and those arent rubbing on anything. i cant think of anything else to do.

i dont think its that because the old brakes were making noise too. that and the new pads are designed not to make noise.

You are not alone! I have the similar issue with my brake pads. I think you need brake shims to reduce or even eliminate the squeking. I haven't done this but, I don't mind the noise.

If you didnt machine your rotors smooth, they will squeak.

Mine squeek as hell too. They're ****ty brakes tho, so yeah. You can try buyin the Anti-Brake squeek stuff it might work for awhile atleast for me it did. I jus got to the point of oh well jus role my window up. Remember squeaky brakes isn't always a bad thing, many aftermarket brakes roar and its normal.

For the short-term, you could try taking some sand paper and scuffing up the rotor surfaces. They're probably heavily glazed. As previously mentioned, you probably need to have your rotors turned. More than likely, if they're stock, you'll be told they can't be machined any thinner and you'll have to buy new...start looking now for the brake set up you'd like to move forward with.

Make sure you guys are cleaning and lubing those caliper pins too. Anytime you change the pads you should clean the whole caliper assembly, lube all necessary pins and clips, and shim the pads.

If you think your brakes make noise, try taking them to the track all day then listen to them the next morning. You'll think the car is going fall apart but its normal and goes away after they warm up.

another thing that causes squeaking is dirty calipers, rotors. if you touch the pad surface, and put grease, dirt or oil, you need to clean it off. bedding the new brake pads also makes a huge difference, not only in that, but the friction between the rotor as well.

btw, you should get your rotors turned
