This winter, over the past several weeks, I've been noticing a slight squeaking noise (like springs or rubber squeaking) when I go over a hard bump at slow speeds(as I do to get into my garage). I haven't noticed it while driving (probably because my engine and exhaust make such sweet sounds that cover it up), and haven't been able to reproduce the sound for my mechanic yet. This has all been after I installed my RL rear sway bar and endlinks a couple of months ago. Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks.

A couple of guys including me over on nissanclub had the same problem. All you need to do is grease(lube) up the bushings for the sway bar. It's ridiculous and go through the same procedure ever 3-4 months or so.

Thank you! I don't mean to be rude, but just to clarify so that I understand, I assume you mean to "grease" the bushings -- can you or anyone suggest what to use and the easiest way to do it? Does anything have to be unscrewed and then reattached?

you would take off the 2 bolts/brackets that holds the bushing in place and lube it.

What lube are you guys using? Is it bushing specific or just regular petroleum grease?

thats just the price you pay for having stiff end links. Personally i see no need for it on a daily driver. not comfortable at all. i made this mistake on my integra, the only way i enjoyed it was pegging every turn. they are going to squeak, you can not stop it.

Beak, your post is actually very helpful, since you've normalized what I'm experiencing. I don't mind the squeak at all, it was more concern about whether anything is "wrong" or "deteriorating" -- and, since I'm doing autocross next month, I do need the handling enhancement. Thanks for the information.

Both my car and Ranga's squeak going over small bumps at low speeds (or fast, I'm sure). Mine is completely stock in the suspension area, while Ranga has some endlinks and a sway bar. I haven't have this issue with my other now older and cheaper late model cars, so I think it's a little ridiculous that a higher priced car like an Altima Coupe would have such silly issues, but I guess it is what it is. Greasing the bushings sounds like the solution to this problem, I've never gotten around to this, but I may bring that up at the dealership next visit. Of course, at > 51k miles I highly doubt they'll do it for free under any sort of warranty, and I don't have the tools.

I had after market sways on my old car and they constantly squeaked because of the poly-eurathane bushings. You can grease em up like everyone keeps saying but the reality is that the day it rains somewhat hard it will all wash right off. I will never put poly eurathane on any of my cars ever again. It is just way too annoying unless you crank the radio...haa

Well, the good news is that, as I previously noted, the sweet oise my engine makes with my mods masks everything else -- that's why I hear it only at very low speeds without the radio on!
