This hardly registers on the vital issues of NICO ... but does anyone have any idea why ALL FOUR DOORS on my '95 Q are now squeaking, (as they swing open and shut), and seem to resist every imaginable form of lubricant ... WD-40, 3-in1 oil, white lithium grease. The source seems to be inside the door(s), not in the exposed hinges.

It's probably the metal guide inbetween the hinges. Infiniti calls it a "Link-Door Stopper" or "Check Link" with p/n 80430-60U00 at least for the front doors. It keeps the door from flopping open and closed. Back in 1996 or 1997 they were $24.44 list/ $16.37 club price. I had one replaced under warranty, and sent the two back that I ordered after I discovered that they were covered under the warranty, but I still had the invoice.

The dealership greased them with a really heavy stringy grease (looked like wheel bearing grease) and it stopped the noise on all but one. I had the same problem, and it seemed like everything I tried made it worse! Guess sometimes using the old-school nasty stringy grease works better...

The grease to use is a high pressure grease with lead or copper in it. INFINITI calls theirs PBC grease, Wurth CU 1100. It may take a few applications for the noise to go away. By the way, the wrong grease makes it worse.
