squeaking front suspension

I own a 1997 skyline gts hr33 coupe rb20e. About 5 days ago i heard a squeak in my front right wheel as i turned the car to the left whilst it was at standstill. the sound comes up when u have turned more half way to the left and u a about to lock. o the straight there's no noise and its only on that left turn. after checking the suspension visually, i realised that both tie-rod ends had cracked and spilled grease but one mechanic insists its the lower ball joint. can anyone advise? any tips on part numbers? your help will be greatly appreciated.
