Hey guys I searched on the topic of squeaking clutch and saw that many people recommended lithium grease to make the squeak go away when pushing down the clutch pedal.

So, I bought some of it, and got under the pedals to see what was going on down there. My problem is that Im not sure exactly where to grease. I tried lubing the spring connected to the pedal and surrounding compoments but it is still squeaking. I suspect that applying the grease to the outside with a popsicle stick didnt quite penetrate where the grease needs to go.

So, can anyone give an accurate description of where the grease should go? Or should I just go out and buy WD-40 and let the mist get into all of the tight spots? Thanks.

i used vaseline with my fingers and juss applied it everywhere (around the spring) I could and then within a day of driving, the squeaking stopped

there is a small white plastic bushingthat looks like a top hat that the return spring sits in -it wears out and falls out presumably. I replaced it on my last 240 and no more squeaking! the 92 I just got does the same thing. The part is about 1.50 from the dealer.the spring is a ***** to tkae out and put back in but well worth it!
