Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me why a belt (I don't know but I think it is my alternater belt) underneath my car squeals only when the car is very cold and sits for more that eight hourts.
I had my alternater changed around the summer of 2006 and I did notice it right afterwards, but I got underneath and tightened the belt again. I figured that it should be tighter to stop the squealing.
The squealing only lasts about two or three seconds and then goes away. I also had my timing done professionally about a month after the alternator.
Could the squealing be that the belt needs tightening agian or a new belt is needed or could it be something else? I did not have the belt changed when the alternater was changed, but I did order a whole timing kit from Infiniti of Scottsdale ( I don't know if an alternater belt was included).
Thanks for any help,
Geoff.
