I feel like such a noob asking this but lately my belt has been squeaking.

It usually only squeaks once the air starts getting cold (usually at night) and only when I'm making turns and starting it up for about 20 secs. And it started happening around the end of December.

Once I have the car running for about a good 20 minutes it stops or if I rev it high for about a minute.

I also replaced the alternator around October.

Any ideas?

Engine= KA24E

are they new belts, old belts, aftermarket? When I used to work at a nissan dealer we'd have alot of cars come in with squeaking belts b/c they're aftermarket. Nissan and Toyota pully's have deep groove lands and some aftermarket brands don't have that deep of grooves to fit multiple applications so after time the belt slips and causes the squeak.

Yeah even if it is aftermarket if it is the right belt, it is only squeeking with a temp change. It seems like your belt just might be streching into shape or something assuming it was replaced with the alternator. If it wasnt replaced you should check the edges of the belt. If it was used on an old alternator it could have worn to some funky shape. You also should make sure there is no moisture on your belt. I have seen that cause belt slippage before.

They also make a belt dressing that makes it stop squeeling...never used it myself but if you check your belt and its perfectly tight and such it may be an option.
