2006 Nissan Pathfinder SE Off-Road 4x4

I first noticed this at a Tim Horton's drive through because my window was down and I was driving slowly.

There is a squeak/grind sort of noise coming from, as far as I can tell, everywhere. I did some testing and found it only makes the noise when I'm pushing on the gas. As soon as I take my foot off the gas it stops. It's not an engine sound it changes with speed not RPM. I also notice it makes the sound just before I stop, like travelling 5-0 km/hr whether the gas is on or not.

Any suggestions?

Ensure the transmission fluid is at the proper level. Also check the differential(s) fluid level if possible.

transmission fluid is good. I'll have to jump under there to check diff fluid.

I noticed the U-Joints for the halfshaft go frequently - is this a possible problem? Should I change them and see what happens, they are cheap enough from NAPA?

Diff fluid is good. I picked up some u-joints at NAPA and changed them out - no fix.

Then a Crazy thing happened. I have had new springs and struts sitting in my garage for a month now, I decided to finally make the change - while I was pulling apart the right front struts (with an impact wrench) a screwdriver fell onto the garage floor - totally mangled

No more acceleration noise. So I think I found the problem - Foreign Object Damage.

Put your tools away when your done the job and if your missing something, go find it.
