Hey everyone

I installed my SPL subframe bushing collars last week and now theres a strange squeak only on one side of the car.. the passenger rear. when driving over bumps at slow speeds or accelerating/decelerating it squeaks in the back right. also when parked and i push down on the rear on that side i can hear it squeak

so the question is.. what are your ideas on this? im gonna check it tmrw but did i tighten a bolt too much or what could it be?

tnx for any ideas

max

usually a squeak might mean dry bushings somewhere.

Ya, those are high maintenance. I have the same issue. Get some ultra sticky motorcycle chain lube and get happy on those suckers.

Hey whatz going on there max, I had a similar problem with my right from wheel, usually when I make a really sharp turn or go over bumps and stuff like that it will make a squeeking sound like there is friction of rust, it got me worried and I asked around alot, I took it to the dealership to get it fixed and they said that they couldn't find the problem when I first took it in, the I did some asking around with Mechanics, according what this guy told he said that usually because of temperature changes it causes the bushing to react. Like when its cold everything will contract, and this happens to quite a few people. So I took it back to the dealership again and they told me that it was the bushing, they did what they had to do and that fixed the problem. Hope this helped you out a bit...good luck and hope you get the problem fixed dude.

LOL ya bringing old threads. I've acutally have a less sever case than yours because i didn't have any clunks. Even though i found out what was the cause, since i got megan rear toes, the inside balljoint/rubber needed some wd-40. The problem went away completely for about 2-3 month, but it reappeared again...this really piss me off because it is a hassle to constantly lube toe rubber balljoint every few months... So right now, i still am looking for the right way to solve this annoying problem...

Ditto, I had been having this problem for the last couple of weeks on my drivers side rear. I began to think I might have a noisy coil or spring. Going over bumps and just getting in and out of the car I would hear a squeak/creaking sound which just started getting worse. I jacked the car up three or four times and checked for loose suspension parts or bolts to no avail. I pushed down on the rear and could tell it was coming from the spring/strut assembly so one day I jacked the car up and pulled the entire strut assembly and found this...The rubber seat had come loose from the shock bracket which normally fits snug on the shock bracket and was causing the noise when the top of the spring would come into contact with the bracket from the looks of it. I put the rubber seat back on tightly, put everything back together and I haven't heard a peep out of my rear end since then. It's as quiet as it was before.
