95 240sx with a ka24de 5sp

I can start the car just fine. It idles extremely rough and struggles to stay alive. When i rev the engine in neutral it sounds like only 3 cylinders are working, and when im driving it definately has an extreme loss of power. I checked the plugs and wires, all good there. Cleaned off my maf, nothing changed. Battery is good, no smoke coming from the exhaust. When I do start the car i get this horrid wiff of gas, but no smoke. I JUST washed my engine with simple green and a hose, but i made sure to cover up the distributor and relay box, and took the battery out. When I put everything back the car ran fine now 2 days later it barely makes it up hills. Vacuum lines are all good, no wires got pulled apart. Ive been hearing a ticking noise coming from where the timing chain is from the valve cover. Someone tell me what i broke so i can fix it and get to work........

not sure bought the loss in power but the ticking is caused by the Timing Chain Guide. its a problem with all ka's. you can do one of two things to fix it. replace the guides, i think there are three. or you can just take them off. i believe that's what most people do, including myself. hope this helps some

nissan said them selves you dont need the guides so just remove them.Your loss of power, lawn mower sounding, gas smelling, everything is exactly what my car did.Check your injectors and just to make sure check your timing. My car ran on two cylinders cause of clogged injectors and bad timing, well the timing was good but the spark plug wires were wired in the wrong order :Pso check the wire order on your dizzy too

Thanks alot for the input guys. My stupid@ss was tricked by my engine! Turns out the #4 plug wire was faulty. It works on and off again, so it mustve worked when i pulled it out the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time. On this last attempt i caught the little ahole not working. Thanks for the help Klits562 and i4jdm, and yes, ill be removing those guides tomorrow

hey bro was just thinking about this some more and a possibility for ur lawn mower is u can have a bad distributer, cap, or rotor. just things to check if you cant find anything eles...o and check your wires running into ur injectors, if any of these wires got somehow cut it would cause the same problem.
