I have an rb25 in an s13. Been running for about 2 weeks. At first the skipping started only at an high rpm. I only run 99 octane fuel, so that's not it. It has gotten worse. Now starts as soon as I mat it. If I hold the throttle barely open it is fine. What do you think this is? A list of things I put into before starting......fuel pump, water pump, timing belt, injectors, new maf, clutch, plugs, coil packs, fly wheel, fmic, and many other things not listed. Has anyone else experienced this? It will crack and sputter, but steadily gain rpm's. Could it be timing, air/ fuel????????

misfire could be caused by the plug gap, you might wanna double check to make sure you gapped them right.

I second the plug gap.

Don't use cheap *** autozone plug gap tool.

if the plug gaps aren't it, i'd probably do a leak down test also..Could have a boost leak thats getting worse and worse as you "mat it."

I checked the plugs, and they are burned white. So the car is running lean. Put new zex plugs in, and called top hat for the proper gap. Same freakin problem. Could the ecu be a factor? Does anyone know about the ecu code A2? Could this be a n/a ecu? I am at the end of my rope with options, of what to do. Please help

I am 100% sure there is not a boost leak. I double checked everything. At first I thought it was a vaccuum leak, so that was the first thing checked

Not sure about "a2". I'm used to seeing a 2 digit number only code.

Is your o2 sensor plugged in and working properly? I tried to run my engine without the stock o2 sensor once. It continuously ran leaner and leaner. What about your coolant temp sensor for the ecu?

You wouldn't happen to have the nissan datascan program by any chance? I use mine to diagnose weird crap all the time.

I did unplug the o2 sensor, and when i did you could smell gas, and it started back firing. So I know that works. Where could I get one of those scan tools? I didn't know that one would work
