ok so my car out of nowhere started sputtering, i chaned out my plugs and it fixed it for a lil while, i went to change them again and one of plugs were messed up, the electrodes were touching. so anyways i changed them and its still sputtering if i try to drive at a constant speed. so if i drive it i have to accelerate. also it will die at idle. i cleaned the maf, i checked the wiring, to the coilpacks, CAS, the fuel pump works fine. can it just be a dirty fuel filter? if it is, wouldnt it just do it all the time ? anybody have any ideas?

p.s. a few days ago i checked the codes on my ecu and it shot out the engine coolent temperature sensor, should i even worry about that if the gauge reads and warms up fine ?

Replace the coolant temp sensor, it cost like a couple of dollars at advance auto. Get it off a 92 nissan sentra se-r. Change it out with a 19mm 12 pt deep socket If your coolant temp sensor is broken, the car will think its running colder then it really is thus dumping fuel. Your water temp gauge is reading normal because there are 2 sensors on the throttle body. The red one goes to the ECU and the other one goes to the gauge.

Which sensor did you change because they'res 2.

One is for your gauge on the cluster.

The other is for the ECU.

The one you should have replaced should have been the double prong plug. They're side by side in the engine.
