So, I've been collecting parts the past months.. as well as my friend.. So yesterday I told him he could test fit his manifold/turbo/downpipe on my s13 since his engine is all torn apart.. Well he figured, "hey, why not put it all together" and we got to thinking, we have enough parts for a nice little build (8psi on a super 60) before we both finish our engines. so...parts list..

We're using my:JRC Intercooler and pipingTurbo XS RFL bovSAFC IIAEM widebandz32 MAFSR DownpipeNGK IX plugsMagnacore WiresWalbro 255lph pumpOil feed lineMSD CoilAnd of course my car (already has ACT Xtreme pressure plate, ACT street disc and welded diff.. also boost, oil pressure, oil temp, and water temp gauges)

and his:IAP manifoldTial wastegate (8.7psi spring)T3 Super 60Turbo--->SR downpipe410cc Injectors

So we're hoping to boost at the spring setting 8psi, and tune with the safc. One reason for doing is that we're both building engines, and going to be running a lot more boost than this setup. We wanted to get a feel for tuning, and a turbo. It's costing us nothing more than what we already have for our own setups... and it should only take a few nights after work.

So, here's some pictures of the progress from last night, and tonight..

I got the bumper off and mounted the Intercooler, ran the piping and other misc stuff...

and with the bumper on..sorry, my car is extremely dirty... we took it apart right after a road trip, and rain.

Also, we have the interior stripped.. we cut out the rear seat brackets to make a much cleaner look..

I'm going to be sanding it all down, and painting it gloss black since it will be left stripped out like this.. from the seats back.

well that's it for the past two nights.. i'll keep updating this as the days go by.. we're hoping to have it running by next weekend if everything comes in as it should... I have my s14 to drive until then.

Heh.. nice.. I can't wait to have some boost.. I'm better off running this setup for a little while and getting used to it, rather than pushing 15psi on a GT35 right away.. going from 130whp to like 325whp would be way too huge of a jump...

But yeah.. I pulled all the A/C crap out tonight, and cleaned up the engine bay a little... not much else I could do..

My A/C system worked at idle and slightly on the highway.....Any boost made whatsoever and it would become a heater....Got so hot one time I thought my hand was burnt when I went to flip the switch....Had the coldest A/C in town too ....I miss those days....

I probably would have kept it.. but I ended up buying a 95 SE with leather, a/c all the googies.. so I drive that now.. and the s13 gets to be the project car... I'm hoping to get the inside sprayed next tuesday, and put all the interior back in... hopefully I have my SAFC II by then so I can wire it up while the dash is out.. then we basically just need to put on the manifold, turbo and downpipe...

Why does the dash need to be out for the safc?? I did mine and my friend's in the florida sun with just the passenger door open....

it doesn't... i'm just saying it will make things easier.. I think.. it's not a huge deal, if I want the dash in before hand, then i'll do that... but it's out, and I can run all my wiring and stuff behind it easier.. for the safc, gauges, fan switches and such..

here's a few of the engine bay at the moment.. gotta love the bright green sway bar.
