I just returned from a track day with what I assume is a spun rod bearing - #4 I think. The engine only had about 6K miles on it after a full rebuild.
This is second time it happened. The first motor had over 200K on it, but also happened on a track day, and didn't think much about it until this happened. I'm wondering if the oil pump is sucking some air during fast right hand sweeping turns.
Is spinning rod bearings a common problem on these motors?
Is there something with the oil pans, pickups, etc that makes them more prone?
Are there any fixes, other than the obvious, to alleviate this problem?
I've about decided to find another car for track days/ PDX's.
Thanks!

KA24e or KA24DE? Do you have an oil pressure gauge installed? Sounds like it might have gotten starved for sure.
