if a main bearing is spun, the motor will have to be torn down and rebuilt.

does the motor clack or knock? might sound like a thumping sound. if it does, the motor has to be rebuilt or replaced.

at least. the crank journals might be scored/scorched and may require machining to be trued. the rings may be scorched. the motor has to be removed from the car and taken apart. its not as simple as just replacing the bearings. having a spun bearing is a major problem.

if your going to be upgrading, i would say this is the time to rebuild the motor with good internals and go turbo.

a couple thousand either way. the cheapest thing to do would be to get a used motor. unless your building for speed, then you have to decide what is the best option for you.

Just swap it if the crank it scored. I picked up my KA for my coupe for $300 with 150km on it. there not hard to find.
