Im looking at purchasing a 240z that has an L28 swapped into it. It has atleast one spun bearing. Can the bearings be replaced properly without rebuilding the entire engine?

Also, the car has been turbocharged. Can I just use OEM Nissan bearings, or is there a stronger aftermarket alternative?

if a bearing has spun there is a reason, and it should be torn down and checked otu at the least, nissan bearings or any name brand aftermarket bearings should be fine, the nice thing is the L6 uses 7 main bearings! so it spreads the laod and they take a lot of abuse

or just find another L28 to swap in, as for turbo, was it a stock L28ET from a 280ZXT? was it a turbo tom carb'ed turbo setup? look at the bottom of the block on the crivers side kinda below and forward of the mount, the casting number should be N42 or F54, then look att he head between the spark plugs for #1 and #2, should be a casting # there like N42, N47, P90, or P79

is it now carbed ro injected? SU? webbers? downdrafts? sidedrafts?

what's your goals for power and use? lots of potential here, it cna be as wild or mild as you like
