A $200 deductible and a few uh-oh's (heh heh) on the interstate will solve the paint chip problems. My car still looks new. :D

Nevertheless, this is one of the best looking M's I've ever seen. The drop is perfect. And those rims look fantastic on the car. I've seen those Vossen's on a blue M45; but they really look even better on the white. Perfection.

That is a bad ride you have there. Wheels and a drop always make the ride. Im saving up for the brake upgrade. BTW someone ask if a 08 bumper will fit. Its be done a couple of times.

Tony - you bring up a great question - I hope not to find out the hard way! I am not sure if the BBK will clear a spare wheel. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Should I consider the spare that comes with the G37 (with the correct rolling diameter for the M)?

Question: Do you notice a difference in stopping power? or difference at all? I don't really like how my stock ones, very touchy and sensitive...
I do notice a significant improvement from the jittery stopping power (or lack of) from the ole stock setup. The BBK should have been the standard setup for the M... not sure what NIssan/Infiniti were thinking... Oh yeah... $$$

Backdoc... yummy! :)

The BBK's fit but not by much. I think you are running the VVS-078 right? I would consider calling Vossen up and see what they have to say.

Yup, dang I guess your using the 85's? They look very similar but I believe the 85's look like they might clear a little more caliper.. i will call Vossen but might have to have you over for a brewski and fit them to your car and see what we have.. i gotta have the BBK but I'm not sure they'd fit.. will keep you posted.. here's another one..

also, you might want to drive my car with the Vredestein's. we have the same size tire and when i bought the wheels, they had the Falken's (pretty much brand new) on there.. I "traded" them in for the Vredestein's and haven't looked back.. great tire in my opinion.. Aren't the Falken's a little loud?

Falkens are loud, but it's not so bad. You got me curious about the Vredesteins. As for the brew, sounds good to me! ;-) But better yet, the guys at Vossen are pretty helpful. Did you get a chance to call them up?

I am looking to get slotted/drilled rotors, and I was looking at R1 Concepts and Stoptech. Someone on another thread recommended FrozenRotors, but they are $$$.
I see that BBK kit uses Stoptech ones. How do you like them? Do you have any spec of rust? Any input on you Stoptech would be greatly appreciated!!!

The FrozenRotors are nice, but pretty expensive. As for the Stoptechs, they are good quality. Rust - oh yeah...it does show up .... :picard:

Basically, wherever the pad doesn't touch the rotor... turns to rust - unless you coat with a anti rust coat (i.e. rustoleum high temp paint). I painted the rotor hats and they are doing quite well without rust. As for the rotor surface, rust can be seen within the chamfered surfaces of the drill holes as well as in the slots themselves. It's not too bad. There is also a 3/8" ring of rust where the pads don't touch (where the hat ends and the rotor surface begins).

Hope this helps.

How much do the 85's run for a 19" or 20" size? I hate that a lot of manufacturers don't put their prices online.

Are you talking about the 285's that I am running in the rear?

I see someone else got the Vred's as well. Have them on my 06 M45 Sport and definitely recommend them. car was loud with the Bridgestones and was really annoying but whisper quiet now. Great tire and cheap too.

Redline,

Did your M drop the stated 1.6" and 1.0" that Eibach says it will? Most spring manufacturers cannot tell me how much my '09 M35S will drop since they have never tested one. All measurements are based on a non-sport model. Also were you able to get alignment within specs? Do you have any camber kits installed? Your input will help me decide on spring brand.

BTW your M is awesome. :dblthumb:

Redline, I love the way your car looks and how it sits. Looking to do a similar setup on mine. I have a question: I love the vossens VVS085, but I don't want the rear wheels sticking out the fender. I would love for them to sit flush. I know vossens doesn't have a wheel sized to fit flush on the M's, but how would the car look with the 9" wheels in the rear?

Also, does anyone have any input on how the vossen VVS085 with the black machined lip will look on a silver M sport? I know the chrome lip looks great, but was looking for something to make the car look more aggressive.

Thanks.

BB.

The car did lower to the approximate numbers, but it took a little time to settle in.
808M35S wrote:were you able to get alignment within specs? Do you have any camber kits installed?
With the Eibach's the car could NOT be put within specs. Here is my alignment report after the springs were JUST INSTALLED. I've been paying attention to the tire wear on the car. I am seeing some tire wear on the inner tread (due to the negative camber), but that can be dealt with by "flipping" the tires to the other side to keep wear even. The toe numbers don't seem to be a problem as when the car tends to haul down the straights (i.e. a long stretch of freeway) it seems to become a near-non-issue since I don't see any odd wear patterns from out-of-spec toe. Yeah, it's outta spec but it's hella fun to drive. My installer/friend suggested getting a camber kit, but he also added for the price that I may have well gone with some coil-overs. Overall, the setup is great for responsive handling - something I missed when I gave up BMW 330 ZHP vert from before, as well as my G35 coupe.

Hope this helps... and remember.... just have fun! :)

BB - I would say that having the 9's in the back would make your setup even with what you would be running in the front. Since the front would also be 9's. I have a staggered setup with the following specs:
>> 20x9, +38mm offset on the front running 255/35R20
>> 20x10.5, +45mm offset on the rear running 285/30R20

Silver M with black lip... could look good. I think to really set off the silver of your ride as well as to add that unique look to the wheel. How about black lip with a silver pin stripe? That could look sharp on your ride as well. And yes... Vossen does offer such a wheel. ;)

Haha, I think I might run these as well, I saw some of the 78s on a Twilight Blue Pearl M45 Sport, 2007 Model year and they looked awesome! Any issues I should know of with the 4 wheel active steering? They move the tow n camber just a hair on the rears I believe, but nothing I've heard of issues with so far. I think I'm gonna do the continental DW or the Potenza Pole Positions. Would you say do the 255/285 all the way over the 245/275, or do you think the 245/275s would work alright? Any chance of a 295 fitting on the back end w/o rubbing? LOL, I know its a stretch, but I thought I would ask to see.

Super awesome rides guys... Love the M. I had been contemplating the eibach pro kit for quite a while but Im rolling on 22" s and dont want the negatives of the poor alignment..(rubbing, wasting tires,etc.). I need brakes now so I am looking for the right setup now... Im in an '08 M45s blue pearl.
