i have a 91 240sx ans the springs on the front are so wide they cover half my tire is this supposed to look like this or is something wrong? the springs are stock

my front springs are bigger than the rear

The front suspension has struts.

The rear suspension has shocks.

Struts are bigger than shocks, because they are side-load bearing.

Yes, it's normal for your front springs to be a lot bigger around than your rear springs.

well wouldn't this effect me if i got bigger rims cause the tires would probably touch the spring or shock or strut or whatever it is

Yeah, if you got really big or wide wheels, you could run into a problem. Just make sure you do your research and get a good size wheel with a correct offset. I think people are running up to 17X8's in the front. Maybe even bigger, but I don't really pay attention to that. I still have stock 15" S13 wheels hiding my 300ZX brakes.
