springs/struts ??

i am looking into getting the kyb agx struts with any type of lowering spring, i was just wondering what would be the largest drop i should look for in the springs as not to trash the struts too soon,BTW its a 1990 240sx.... and im not looking into coilovers as i do not have the money now, things need to start getting replaced and its my DD
