just bought another 240 after a 4 year departure to ae86's! the car i have has kyb agx and ive used them before on a few rollas before i got into HTS (if you ever get a 86 hts 's are golden) anywho im looking for a stiff spring to buy. like either 8k front with 6k rear or 6k front and 4.7 rear. does anybody know who makes these? swift doesnt. tanabe doenst. tein doesnt. eibach hasnt given me an answer....

also ive been told a 16x8 inch tire is too wide without pulling your fenders. and that a 16x7 with 205 tire will be just fine. what do you guys think?

huh.....no WAY is that too wide....it all depends on wheel offset, some guys are running 17or18x10 rears so NO WAY is 8 inches too wide, and if your after those types or stiff spring rates you might want to look into a good set of coilovers or a spring strut combo matched spring rates to valving, if you want that try contacting koni and ground control adjustable spring rates, ride height, and custom damper valving

So you want to run a stiff spring on the AGX's???

I can't really make much sens out of your post.

Convert the spring rate to lbs, figure out the ID, and free length you need, then call your local Eibach or Hypercoil dealer. Then order a set of shocks to replace the AGX's once they blow from the excessive spring rates.

No idea on the wheel / tires, Adrian or one of the other tire / wheel geeks can probably answer it for you. Have you checked the stickies???

8k = 448, So 450 lb Springs6k = 336, so 300 (Not sure if any one does 25lb increments or not), 325, or 350 lb springs4.7 = 263, so 250lb springs

What he said.

Also, I doubt very seriously that Koni Yellows would need custom valving for any of those spring rate. I think Koni Yellow OTS unit can handle 500lb or so springs (I could be wrong on that though, but I am fairly sure it is in the neighborhood). They may need to be rebuilt a little more often, then if had them re-valved. But I would think they could handle them. Nothing a call to Koni couldn't answer fairly quick. the only thing that sucks about the Koni Yellow OTS units, is adjusting the rears.

thanks guys,... and ya kyb agx blow after a while but im not necessarily a fan of full coilovers for a few reasons

1. im not the type of guy whos going to adjust ride height monthly2. i feel that i get the same performance out of a good shock and spring combo, i mean not all of us are pro scca track guys ya know! haha3. $$$$$

hahaha and honestly after driving my corolla with hts and trd or swift springs NO other coilover setup on a rolla could even compare. ive been told that koni yellows and 8k and 6k setup handle like the car is on rails.

with that being said. i was debating about getting a set of 15x8 and was worried about the front tires rubbing so i might go with 15x7

I run Koni yellows w G/C sleeves and 6" springs. I REALLY like my set up. So has every one else that has driven the car, including more than a couple national level AutoX drivers (We have stiff competition here in KC).Koni's are about 150 each, and about 450 for threaded spring perches (Koni or G/C), >100 for an alignment. So just over a grand for everything.

BTW; i don't constantly adjust ride height, but I have it set right where I want it. So it is nice, even if you don't screw with it all the time.
