Hi guys,

I'm new to the club and have a question on springs for my vehicle. Has anyone found springs for an M56xS? I love the car but sits way too high. It will never see snow or have chains on it and i'd like to lower it.

I've researched OEM suspension parts and it appears they M37 and M56 have the same OEM springs in them. Therefore if I find something for an M37 I'm thinking that should work. Some have said the M56 would have beefier springs to support the added weight, but from what I can find, it appears they are running the same setup.

What do you guys think? Has anyone done this already?

Thanks!

I would just go with BC Coilovers if you really want to lower the car. Personally, my opinion.

I see that you have an M56x......did you go with the BC coilovers? Did you find an application for the M56, or did you go with a M37 setup?

BC makes a kit for AWD M's. I had BC's on my M35x...and plan to get them in the spring for this car.

You can use the Eibach pro kit springs although they were designed for the RWD platform. BC is also another option... we carry have sold both to the M guys.

The front will sit much lower than the back if you use Eibach's in the M56xS

I would be interested in what you would recommend and pricing.

Do you have to install a camber kit (camber/caster plates?) with the BC coil option? Have you guys run into this? What do you recommend?

Camber correction is dependent on the ride height of course. I would say anything over an inch drop and you will not be able to use the factory components to get back into spec. The front OEM arms have no adjustment at all and the rear has very little.

You can use the SPC arms from the G37 up front, but please read the disclaimer in the description on the website. SPC now makes 3 arm set for the rear of the Q50/Q70 and it is also listed on the website.

There are no factory adjustments for Camber and Caster. Only Toe. So if you want to be fully in spec you will need front and rear adjustable parts as described above.
