alright, well i was thinking about going with some KYB AGX's with some tein springs but after seeing some pictures of how much of a drop that is, i don't feel it is worth it, so i think im just going to save up an extra $400 and get me some coilovers..

i just need help deciding which to get...

anyone recommed any?.. preferably below $1000

i was looking at these.. out of these 3 .. which would you guys prefer.. IF you guys would even prefer any of these 3.. ahha

http://www.raceinspired.com/ps....aspxo ... ps....aspx

the car is an 89 240sx coupe, yes it is a daily driver, but i would be using it for some occasionall drift comps!

help me out guys!

well go w the best u can afford and only buy once... dont rule out all spring struts... they arent bad for a daily car....

i got koni/RSRs really superb handling, just low enough for me... i scrape enough as it is...

i was in the same boat as you...exactly 1 year ago i was thinking i just want kyb/tein with some 17x7 fn's or 962's (yea i didn't know crap) but i spent a extra couple hundred and decided to go with megan street coilovers. just a hair shy of 900$ i think they are a great deal for a daily driver. but i don't think spring/sturts are that bad...if i were to get that i'd go with kyb agx with sprint or tanabe or eibach i think they give decent drop but i dono about s13.

Koni yellows and springs, ground control or otherwise. The fronts take some work on the stock strut to mount to your car but sooo much better than agx

stance is your best bet for coilovers...not only are they extremely good, but if you need repairs/replacement shocks you are dealing with someone in chicago!

edit: plus they go lower than you could ever need without removing collars, or preloading the spring

Godspeed. The ppl that have actually used them have only said positive things about them. 99% of hate on these are from non-users or "my buddy said..." people. I bought them, they look superb for an entry level coilover, exactly like meghan's. Keep an eye on my build thread (link in sig) I bought them and I'll have them on in about a week and a half or so, roughly july 13th. I'll have a review written asap.

$679.99 shipped

Seller has an excellent rep and positive feedback so they wont rip you off, just be sure to ask them for shipping info a day or two after you pay, they didnt send shipping info til i asked oh well.

EDIT: The auction I listed ends in like 6 hours... but these are all over eBay and the seller has a ton in their store

how about KTS? theyre about ~$1000

spring rates are streetable... very reputable brand.. more so than any ebay crap... and IIRC, theyre inverted monotube. I dont think you'll find another inverted monotube designed coilover for that price and reputation.

oh, and they're not made in China.

+1 for koni 8611/8610

If you do wanna go with a spring strut... I'd go with ether GC/Konis or RSR race springs/Koni...

but don't expect a drop liek you would with coilovers.

The only down side on the Koni's is adjusting the rears. What a PITA.

AGX with G/C's???

Out of your choices I'd go with Megan coilovers, but I'd pick Stance or KTS over Megans. My nephew runs Tein basics on his S14. The ride is nice, but Stance, KTS, and Megan all offer more adjustability. Plus they can be adjusted to sit lower than the Tein basics.

i have a set of AGX/RS*R, and at first, i could care less about the damping control. Then after doing some minor track (and i mean minor) I want to play with camber and some more damping. So if i had to do it all over again I would just save the extra $200~ dollars and get some megan tracks
