To convert from kg/mm to lbs/in divide by 0.0179, and multiply to go from lbs/in to kg/mm.

So, 9/7 would be about 500lbs/in, 390lbs/in.

not sure what youre dividing, but to go from kg/mm to lbs/inch you multiply by 56

so its 504/392 to be exact

9 divided by .0179 will convert it to metric. either way, it gets near the same #. I think the .0179 method is a bit more accurate, but it's not enough of a difference to be important in most cases. kind of moot. I guess multiplying by 56 is easier to remove.

Its the same thing1/56 = 0.01785

BTW the exact conversion factor is 55.88. So using 0.0179 is more accurate than using 56.

9/7 is 503/391 (rounded to nearest whole number)
