I am really itching more n more to lower the car but it isn't mine (Its technically my dad's car for insurance purposes.. saves me ~$1200 per year) However he still feels the need to own it, which also means he pays for maintaining and repair

I wanted to use the 2" lowering / stiff springs I found on ebay but my friend brought up a slurry of probable issues

Springs put more stress on the frame.. not really affecting me but it is therefactory strut life is cut down severely I need to get a camber kit to avoid chewing apart my wheels from excessive camber??I void my warranty ?? Someone please explain how this works.. what happens when I void this warranty? No more cheap oil change or something or is this for when something like a drive belt going bad and getting it fixed free (because I think I have a belt that needs fixing)

I was looking at this as a $120 upgrade.. just buy the springs and get a spring compressor from somewhere and install em over a weekend but now its like $200 for camber kit, $50-100 for realigning, and a voided warranty?

Someone enlighten me

go with tanabe, it costs a little bit more then what youre trying to spend... but they are trusted... just ask anyone on here who has them.... dont just buy some cheap unknown brand, that is really risky... just go with whats good...

Don't get something like lowering springs off e-bay. Yes it will shorten the life of the struts/shocks. By how much? I don't know but you'll have to shell out of the money for them since the warranty won't replace them. Anything else, they should replace if the springs have nothing to do with it. You may need an alignment but not a camber kit. You will have decreased ride comfort and you can't fly over railroad tracks. You may have to creep over some speed bumps and drive out of certain driveways at an angle.

To me, it isn't worth the money. I want to drive the car, not baby it because I had to make it look cooler.

baby it just to look good? the tanabe springs still leave you alot of room to get in and out of driveways... plus the handling is second to none, well sorta... but its a way better feeling than stock,

Ok first of all, never buy unknown name brands, especially from ebay lolGo with Tanabe's...they cost about 150 im assuming..BUT the money is really worth it. Handling is MUCH betterand looks better too. Im sure you wont have any problems, unlessyou hit a pothole or something like that then your good. And as for warranty, if its the springs fault then yes it will void warranty because tanabe isnt nissan, but if you can prove it isnt the springs fault then the warranty is fine.

And as for Shad0wXCalibur, why be so negative? If the dude wants to lower it, let him lower it, all he's asking for is advice.

Well I guess it depends where you all live. If the roads and such are good, then awesome. Lower it. But this city... never gonna happen. Bumpy roads, giant speedbumps, rough tracks, dirt roads still unpaved, etc. It sucks. On my old car, the frame of the car hit pavement backing out of a driveway on STOCK suspension. I cringed when I heard it do that. I'll take less than average handling and a slight 4x4 look to avoid damage to my car (and because I'm more of a comfort guy).

Well the area I live in (Gilbert and Tempe Arizona) the roads everywhere are perfect.. no snow ever and I wanna lower it for handling and looks

I got the stock wheels on for now.. The tanabe springs are on ebay - factory box sealed, retail pack, has details and all - 2" drop on front rates are 2.5/2.0 or something like that (going by memory) and it looked very good for $130.. they had some orange weird name brand springs too.. check em out if you want but im on my laptop and cant find the set again... ill post back later when i find them

but the warranty thing.. so its only void if whatever went wrong has to do with lowering springs... so like shocks being covered = void with non-nissan springs?

be careful you don't wanna get a knock off... on the tanabe site they say its a 1.5" drop.... not 2". just be careful imo
