OK...so you've remove the three nuts on the strut tower (I'm assuming this is the front strut) and the two down at the steering knuckle, along with the brake lines hooked to the strut body.
Take one of these handy bastards:
And compress the spring enough that it's not going to go flying and put your eye out once you remove the nut on the strut piston. After that, you just remove the single nut on the top of the strut piston and remove the rubber upper mount, etc.
Just remember...always keep the compressed spring pointed away from you or anything else you don't want to possibly skewer. Torque specs are good too and I wouldn't reuse the nuts on the strut piston or the ones that connect the mount to the strut tower.
