Are you doing the valve springs with the head on or off of the block?

If you're doing it with the head off of the block, then you need this...http://www.toolsource.com/stin...C4572

If you are doing it with the head on, you need compressed air and a jimmy-rigged compression tool with a caged end like the one shown in the photo.

there is a tool thats designed for toyota heads but will also work on nissans to remove the keepers and springs from the head, all you need is compressed air to keep the valve from falling in.

Love that tool. Used it changed my friends valve springs in his SR20VE with the motor in the car. All you do is put the motor to BTDC then take the cams out fill #1 with air put the tool over the retainer and give it a whack and it will comress the valve spring and pop it goes. It has a little magnet so you won't looks the little bits lol.

Why didn't anyone mention this about a year ago when I was pulling my head and cams like it was my job?
