Yes yes so we swapped my old 91 KA (171k+drinks oil too much) with a lower mielage 95 KA... since im going ka-t soon.Took us 2 days total.the swap went smooth and was actually pretty straight forward.along the way, we decided to junk the emission stuff...well pictures can tell you the story better...here ya go

4 hours after we started.

notice the emission crap? we junked em... we went from that... to only 3 vacuum lines:1 is for FPR vacuum line, and the other 2 went into the charcoal canister. thats it. say bye bye to emissions.

we took off the intake manifold on both KA. this is a picture we took from the 91 upper intake manifold.. we couldnt figure out why they put that butterfly thingy inside of the manifold....the solution? we used the s14 upper intake manifold (s14 upper intake manifold doesnt have that butterfly thingy. i guess if they ditched it in the later model, then its better without it)

8 hours later.. the s14 KA was ready to be dropped back into my car.my buddy's wife was making sure that we got all of the transmission bolts tightened.

next day: the swap is done. timed it, fill it up with oil and coolant. and off i went driving around.

240_keyy's white hatch (SR, 14psi) in the back ground.

I am now one step closer to ka-t. I just have to wait for the JWT ECU (i sent the ecu 2 weeks ago) to come in and I can go ahead and put everything together.

the KA runs smooth... we did a compression test and we got 170-165-165-165.I can also feel an extra ~10rwhp gain (according to my butt dyno) throughout the powerband in this KA.

i will post more stuff when the ka-t is done... soon

conclusion:s14 block and heads14 upper intake manifolds13 lower intake manifolds13 exhaust manifoldno emmissionsonly 3 vacuum hosess13 distributors13 transmission

edit: i cant figure out why the pictures wont show up.. :(

to tell you the truth.. i dont really know much about kae

but one thing i know is that.. as long as you have the vacuum for the FPR.. you should be good...i dont even think that the 2 vacuum lines for the charcoal canister should be there.. i kept them because i just dont want my car to smell like gas on a hot summer (Texas)

so you could probably remount the canister somewhere else then. just lenghthen those 2 lines and get it out of the engine bay. just thinking once i get elec fans and the fan shroud is gone i'll need to do something with those lines.
