I want to install lowering springs on my KYB AGX instead of coilovers. Simply because I have to modify the shocks to make the coil overs fit Id rather not mess with the shocks.

My question is: Is there a difference in performance between the different brands of lowering springs? For example, will the Teins out perform eobach or ST? Or is the only difference the height reduction?

thanks for your time, I appreciate your help

If you go to the suspension FAQ it will have all of the spring rates on there. Generally the eibach kits come with fairly low spring rates and the teins and ST springs are similar except that the teins have a greater maximal rate but are progressive and list no other spring rates and the ST are a little less stiff but they are linear. Check the sticky...its all there.

There are a lot of factors that come into play with aftermarket springs. It all depens on what you want out of the suspension. The ride height, spring rates, progressive rate, and other factors can vary from brand to brand. What year and model is your car? Is this going to be for street use, daily driver, autocross, track use? We need a few more specifics to narrow it down a bit.

For the love of all pastries. DO NOT put Sportlines on your AGX shocks. Or they'll blow prematurely. Go with the Eibach Pro-Kit, or the Tein S-tech (?) springs. Look for springs that don't lower more than 1.5"

Take it from me.

Sportlines and AGX have worked out just fine for me. Over 40k and not a single complaint.
