Spring adjustments

Hello people. I got my KTS coilovers. There in the car now and there great.But when I tightened my springs down, I like to get them as hand tight as I can then use the spring wrench to turn it an other 1/4 turn. How do you guys like to set your springs up?

I start with Zero preload and go from there.

Spin the upper collar all the way up to the spring to where is can wiggle left/right but not up/down.

Then tighten the collars.

Do you think screwing the collar hand tight until it stops is to tight? It also sound like I'm getting a lot of spring noise. I wonder if there to tight right now.
