I saw the Subaru Impreza NR4 meant for rallying includes a button that sprays water on the radiator.

I also saw MCM make a spray bottle that sprays while youre in the car in a more DIY style.

What are the extreme benefits of doing something like this vs installing an oil cooler or if this is even necessary for daily driving. Also, what exactly does having a cooler engine do? Less stress on the engine? More power?

I think it is worth mentioning that MCM made a spray system for the Intercooler, not the radiator.

Radiator takes coolant and runs it through the engine system to keep things from A) Overheating and B) Freezing (weird right?)

Coolant has a higher freezing/boiling temperature vs running straight water. This is why it is used as an anti-seize of sorts for your engine.

Intercoolers on the other hand are used for cooling air as it goes to the turbo. Cold air = happy turbo.

So is it worth it to set up a mechanism to spray your radiator? No. Just get a better radiator if you're having cooling issues.

Is it worth it to spray the intercooler? Eh. If you're doing a track day every weekend... maybe.

I agree, spend your money elsewhere.

To answer the end all be all question, a cooler engine runs more efficiently and makes more power. Will you feel the difference? Eh. You can't feel anything less than a 10% gain usually. So making the engine run cooler is only going to increase its efficiently probably about... what 3-5% Nothing you'll notice.
