spraying oil

I noticed today that there was alot of oil under my car, popped the hood and saw there was oil sprayed inside the hood towards the front. ideas of there I should check? be as detailed as possible please?

You will need to give details inorder to get details. What yr and model is the car? About where does the oil look like it is coming from? Near the front is nowhere near detailed enough. Where is the largest accumlation of oil on the engine?

still might help if you said what year and model. the shell i bought was spraying oil all over like that. i think it was from the timing cover but who knows. anyway it mustve been leaking for awhile because the engine compartment was well preserved compared to the rusted rear end.

95 ka24de... ill clean the engine and try to narrow down the area. sorry I figured it was a 240 forum...

No we are a nissan/infiniti forum. We cover cars world wide. American model or not. When you clean it try to get a look down low around the crank pulley area there area more places for it to leak around there. If its red in color you could have also lost your power steering front pump seal.
