so has anyone put a nitrous kit on their car? im just wondering how the car is gonna handle the spray, some people are saying spray works pretty well for altima's in the past others are saying they cant handle even a 50 shot, im waiting to get atleast full bolt on's before i do it, but i was just seeing if anyone has gone that route yet

i wouldn't set up more than a 50 shot max because of our high compression engines. Then you also have to get a window switch and all the other goodies to set it up right. Then you gotta tune it with something that lets you read EGTs, knock count, A/F ratio, Timing advance/retard from the computer, throttle position sensor and so on and so forth. Not a cheap venture to do safely/right.....at least not if you don't have someone elses work to go off of.

First of all High Compression = GOOD FOR SPRAY

However i dont kno how strong the internals are.

But keep in mind that any motor can handle a 50-75shot if its tuned correctly

a guy in my car group works for japtrix but thought id check with you guys since i wont see him til tomorow, seeing as we dont exactly have internals out yet for our cars so im a lil uneasy about doing it. but we'll see, if anyone else does it let me know how it works out

Yes Nitrous is safer to do at stock compression or high compression over forced induction because it cools rather than heats the air charge but i wouldn't exactly say it is good for spray. Higher compression = more chance for power = harder tune = more chance for breakdown. It can almost definitely done as i said....it is just not cheap and not easy to tune with a high compression. Granted I don't think we are running anything crazy like 11.5:1 or anything like that.....we just run enough to already need premium so it is just something to take into consideration.

Well ive been building and racing Smallblocks since im 16 and my currant race motor is a 14:1 Comp and running 3 stages. So if u dont kno what ur doing ur right its harder to tune. Then again if u dont kno wat ur doing u have no business modifing ur car.

yea i have someone to tune it for me i was just curious on results other people were getting, and if anyone was having any heavy wear and tear on their engine by doing it, or was it running fine. i think i might just throw on intake and exhaust and a 50 shot on it and pray

exactly....building tried and true dedicated race motors you can replace....go hog wild. Putting spray on your DD is a little different. Research, research and research some more and it sounds like you are headed in the right direction to get someone you trust with experience to at least help you when you are scratching your head or crossing your fingers. Just remember...you can do just about anything you want with the experience and money but it only takes one mistake to seriouslly mess your $hit up. but of course you know that is the risk of modifying...and that is part of what makes it so fun.
