So ive been looking at sportmax wheels and I really like the designs but the price, while low, suggests low quality. Are there any owners or people who know about these who can give me some insight? Thanks for helping a noob.

I don't own them, but they are relatively heavy and are one piece cast wheels. In most cases with wheels, you get what you pay for.

Well, Rota makes fairly cheap "knock off" wheels, and other than a bad batch of wheels (Rota Attack, I think) they seem hold up well. I think half the people at Nasioc are using Rotas.

Alot of people seem to be interested in the Sportmax 002 wheels, so I guess we'll soon see if there are any major problems. I'd imagine they will end up just being a tradeoff between price and weight. I'd be surprised if there was a rash of catastrophic failures with these wheels.

the sportmax 006 is a 2 piece wheel that comes in decent widths and offsets, and i currently have 002s on my scion xB...no bends, cracks in a lil over a year now *knock on wood*
