Well, I'm in the market for new rims, and it came down to either the sportmax 962's or the 5zigen fn01r-c's. right now i'm running stock 15" S14 4 lug honeycombs which weigh 15 lbs each. I read that sportmax rims weigh around 25lb for a 17x7 but i personally really like the way they look on S14s and that its very affordable.

My only concern is the weight. For those of you that are running 962's or other heavy sportmaxes, did you guys notice a big difference in speed and mpg? I dont want my car to be slower than it already is (stock KADE) nor do i want it to eat more gas than it already does anyway. So if sportmax owners, or owners of heavy rims could give some feedback it'd be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You'll be fine, but I wouldn't recomend 17x7 at all

Yeah double-posting is kind of frowned upon by the mods.

if i were to get the sportmax, it'd be the 962's. i love how they look, how they're priced its just the weight. i guess i decided to just stick w/ the fn01rc's ...oh well.

btw, i dont think 006 w/ red lip would look good on a purple S14...

I dont think this has sportmaxes on it yet, but they are really f'ing heavy, like seriously heavy, get the 5zigens they are like 5 lbs lighter per wheel.

The 5zigens are 16lbs for 17x7

The sportmax 962's are 25lbs for the same wheel...

nine more pounds of unsprung weight per wheel, you would have to be stupid to buy the sportmax.

I was rollin 18" 962's and now I have just got a set of the black and red 006's (18x7.5 , 18x 9.5) and they are a couple of lbs lighter. They are still heavy, but I have HP to push those heavy rims so I'm not too worried about it. But it might bother other people to loose a few tenth's off the 1/4 mi.

did you have to do anything to your fenders or anything how wide of a tire are you running? Cause i wanna get the 501's on mine and i wanna get the 16x8 but some site said that they wouldnt fit.. but im guessing those are with stock 205 tires what size tire would be mandatory to run 16x8 sportmax 501s? they are +15 offsets and i was wondering would they damage my susp. later on down the road?

I went from stock SE wheels to 18" Racing Hart C5's (HEAVY), and can tell a huge difference in power.

It's like the car is almost gonna stall on takeoff if my a/c is on, but I am running a stock KADE with 160k.

i didnt notice much of a decrease in performance going to sportmaxs, and ive tried 17s and 18s. i know is more rotating mass, but its not that noticeable.
