My girlfriend drives a s13 convertible with stock suspension and brakes (well, the whole car is mechanically stock). It's a street-only daily driver. Since it's red with a black top, we've decided on Black/Red Sportmax 006's in 17X7 all the way around, with a 215 series Federal tire. Will this fit without modifications or spacers?

P.S. Anyone who's flaming for buying "cheap" wheels can eat a fat d!ck. This is Ohio, I'm sure you'd rather not have your precious mAd TyTe JDM wheels devoured by our potholes anyways. This isn't a show or track car.

Too busy eating fat d!ck to provide the offset? Proper information for the win.

Unless it is a stupidly high offset, those will fit no problem. You can even run a 205 if you want.

This isn't for performance. This car is a fun, economical, reliable daily. Neither of us buys into the 240 bandwagon. The only reason we bought a 240 vert in the first place is that it's the only decent four-seat convertible in its price range. Cavaliers, Sunfires/Sunbirds, Shadows/Sundances, LeBarons, and Sebrings are utter crap. Infiniti M30's, BMW's, and Saab's are too expensive to buy parts for. Mustangs and F-bodies are either unreliable, too bad on gas, or both. Celica verts are as overpriced as 240 verts, and if she ever wants to become serious about performance, she's a wheel/tire change and manual trans swap away in a 240.

If we wanted a track car we'd have bought a B13 SE-R, and we'd be putting something forged on it.

The only reason I've even been such a d!ck from the start is that there's a tendency here to flame anyone who refuses to put $3000 wheels on a $2000 car. All it took to know I'd have to wade through douchebaggery was to search "sportmax" on the forums and read.

Brand snobbery and JDM obsession is another form of rice.

umm... listen douchebag, I said nothing against sportmaxes... so wipe your tears and stop crying... not once did I even mention the word "cheap"... ... that was your guilty conscience telling you something...

anyways, my point... you do realize that sportmax, esp 006, comes in a wider wheel size? get 17x9, its like the same price (maybe like $20 difference).

and get a fvcking clue, you said you searched, but if you properly searched, you woulda realized that spacers are relavent to offset, not wheel size.

if by any chance, you don't take my advice, and you decided to take the wheels off the oregon trail wagons (17x7), then I'd suggest going with 205/45/17 and look for a possible wheel offset of +15 or lower (like +10 or +0 at the least). Stay away from the +30 and +40's for those are intended for fwd applications. imo, 215's are retarded on a 7", but if you do, go with 215/40/17.

I would get 17x9 all around or atleast get 17x8 in the front and 17x9 in the rear.

... and seriously, this has to be the dumbest post I've seen in a long time. Brand snobbery and JDM obsession = rice? Are you kidding me? talk about ignorance. These companies spend millions of dollars in R&D which are tested and proven by race cars in various motorsports across the world, not the ricers across your street.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEq8C5ZIezY (cool video btw, you should watch)as opposed to non-forged, twice as heavy knock offs that spend probably a week of R&D because they copy some other company's original design.

And who the f*** said you have to spend $3000 for a set of wheels? You can get a brand new set of Work XD-9 17x9.5 +15 (perfect offset btw) for under $1000 (maybe even cheaper if you know someone). A buddy of mines even found a deal for his XD-9's for $1000 w/ brand new tires! Your sportmax wheels w/ tires already come to that price of $1000. Don't be ignorant, theres deals from sponsors and groupbuys where you can get real wheels at a fraction of the price. I'm not gonna even mention some of the really good 3-pc used wheels I've seen.

Well, the OP started this thread off like crap, and it has not gotten any better.

Grant, I am amazed at how you kept your cool, and didn't "forest fire" the kid. Thanks!

To the OP, try starting a thread without telling people to eat a fat d!ck, and calling us douchebags. It'll get you much farther.

Adrian, thanks for the input.
