I can't imagine this is going to do anything good for the smoothness of the ride. Has anyone here done it? Do you think it'll be a noticeable drop in ride quality?

As it is I consider my x a bit rough-riding though I don't blame it because of the awd but I really would like to change my stock 18" wheels. They're bruised up and the sport wheels just look awesome.

I would agree that they would look nice! To make sure your TPMS(tire pressure monitoring system) works afterwards, make sure you remove your existing valve stems and that they work in the new wheels. I suppose that if they don't, that is a trade off you would have to decide on. Regardless, you probably want another opinion.

In the mean time, I found the following link which is an application of M45 sport wheels on a G35. It looks great but some extra steps were taken like replacing wheelstuds.

Please let me know how it works because I may do this myself at some point.

Thanks.

Some extra steps might apply to us because we have the X but I don't think any of that G35 stuff is relevant. The 06/07 M35s come in the Sport wheel. The G35 does not. It's already made for the Sport version of our car so if there are extra steps they must be minimal.

I guess there's a small possibility that they may not fit at all because of something related to the AWD system but I doubt it.

I'm going to try and call the dealership as well see if they can shed some light.
