Anybody have any input on whether "sport" mode on the shocks for my AE would put more wear and tear on them than regular mode?

One would think more dampening on the same shock would wear it more than otherwise...but who knows!

Just wondering, as I'm planning on burying this car in hopefully the distant future.

I would think sport mode being stiffer allows less piston travel than regular setting-less piston travel,LESS wear? who knows for sure-enjoy the setting you like best, even if it means slightly less shock life

Less wear on the piston, yeah, but more of a stress on the seals and such. I really don't know-it's all just conjecture on my behalf. I hope you're right ship.

The longer I can put off the shock replacement the second time the better!

I'm new to my Q45, but I drive 130 miles a day.

Do you all really feel a big difference between the 2 settings?

I've switched it back and forth a couple of times and really didn't notice much so I just leave it in AUTO.

Of course that's all freeway driving for me. Maybe I shouldn't notice a diff? The LA area freeways are so beat up I thought I'd notice a big diff with the sport.

I don't know. I'm still getting use to the car and this hell of a drive.

I never used to...and they I replaced my entire suspension with OEM.

Now the difference is night and day. I guess as the shocks wear, the difference is less apparent.

I also just noticed you have an '02. I have a 2000. That might be a difference as well...I can't speak for the f50 adjustable feeling.

If your shocks are worn out (over 4 years/60k miles old, whichever comes first) then you cant compare at all.

I think sport would put a little more wear on things, but how much is hard to quantify. They will certainly still be fine for 4-5 years no matter what "setting".
