Sport Mode

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Have my EX 35 for several weeks now and absolutely loving it.

So let me ask you guys....when do you use the sport mode option on the transmission. In the city...country roads....long drives....all of the above...what? Is it a good idea to put it in sport mode now and then or does it really matter.

Just curious....Thanks

I only use it for manually shifting gears or engine braking I seldom leave it in DS. The next time you are going down a hill where you want to control or slow your speed move the lever to DS and let off on the gas. You should notice the car slows down more than if you were in D. The reason being DS disconnects the overdrive sooner where in D you most likely have to touch the brakes before the computer figures out that you want to slow down a little more using engine braking.
