I read my newest issue of Sport Compact Car yesterday. I was just curious of what they said about the turbo setup posiblitites for a 240sx. Do you think they did justice to our beloved motor? I ask because two years ago, before I purchased my euro-spec s13 w/ CA18DET, I had never even heard of the motor & this printing will be read by many nissan owners to help guide them in begingin their turbo projects. I thought that our pride and joy was well represented in the article expecially in the fact that the write chose to point out how readly available OEM parts are for the car to the point of telling which year/model. So what are ya'lls thoughts.

as much as i agree with the ricer comments, i'd say that SCC is the most respectable of any of the compact-oriented magazines i've read, and if you know of any that are better i'd like to know because i find it kinda hard to get any intelligent automotive reading material

hey guys, the popularity of the CA will never get to the level of the SR, people like displacement, they won't go for a CA if at all possible to avoid it. ****, the next most popular swap is going to be the RB, 'cause 2.5L is OBVIOUSLY better than a 1.8L

Lets take nissan fwd vehicles for instance, there isn't a gang of nissan engines in fwd fashion that can punch out 300whp with just a few simple upgrades. The SR20DET wins the FWD battle hands down over say a CA18DET, E15T or the MA90 (turbocharged/supercharged 1.0litre motor) when it comes to mass #s, but the biggest problem besides breaking rocker arms is the wimpy transmissions that they use on these engines. I mean they break almost all the time and there's a shortage of them as I can recall. The CA18DET and the U.S. pulsar trannies are a good combination and gives reliability to the fulles (I have yet to break a transmission). RWD or 240sx have a bigger market to shop from with bigger displacement and more power from factory (RB series) coupled with the hype of the fast and the furious puts the SR20 right where the CA18DET is (on the bottom). But parts availability for the bigger, powerful exotic (RB series) engines also puts them on the bottom with the CA18DET as well. And to those that boost the KA24's, well, they have their issues too, but I think I'd rather be stuck boosting a KA before I toy with an SR. But then again, this is a CA18 forum so my favorite will still be the CA18DET as I plan to exploit better than 500whp out of my own! And the unique thing will be that it's displacement has not been disturbed (1809cc).

i like MODIFIED - IMPORT TUNER - SCC - SUPER STREET. I believe it was import racer that put out a one time magazine strictly about drifting called "DRIFTING" On the front in a small side column said "DRIFT YOUR HONDA" I didn't think that was possible but it had my interest. I go to the page and theres the late 90's CIvic hb. Next picture a over excited honda owner, holding up two fast food joint (mcdonald's jack-n-tha-box etc.) plastic food trays with huge scraps across the bottom showing how he had locked his e-brake with them placed under his rear tires and then he "DRIFTED" his civic. I laughed, but a couple of my buddy's (honda guys) loved the idea and are saving up trays so they can all go out one night for a little parking alot session.
