Does anybody know what month and year that Sport Compact Car Magazine featured the article on how they painted their Nissan Silvia with flat black spray paint?????? Its either going to be this option, or a $225 dollar paint job at Maaco for a Presidential paint package with some 50% off coupon.... Hey, what am i gonna do? im broke:(

jeez, as much as I love flat black cars, I see this becoming a fad color of the ricer (& drifter) scene

not to rip on it, it looks great, and a rattle can is an easy fix for any cars paint job

but Ive seen SOOO many cars going flat black lately... wth!?civics? protige? 200sx?

I had this planned when I first bought my 240 3 years ago, but I blew the motor and had to save up for a swap. By the time I got the swap done and was ready to primer the car, SCC put out there article and when I saw it I was pissed. All of my friend already knew that this was my plan, but I decided against it because now I would have just been following in SCCs footsteps.

Guess thats why I stuck with the grey primer instead of going over it with the black to finish it off.

BTW, Primer can be found in almost all pastel colors but the good stuff has to be mixed with a hardender and can cost anywhere from $50-$100 a gallon and usually you have to add the color tints yourself.

ya, just goto http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com and look for project cars. They don't go into detail about how they paint it, only what they use. Still, somewhat informative.
