Replaced the pads on my G at 49k miles and had the rotors turned. Up until a couple weeks ago the car drove and braked well but it looks like some warpage had started creeping into the front rotors so I figured it was time for a brake job. I picked up a set of Project mu front pads and Hawk rear pads then set out to meet my mechanically talented buddies for some brake work.

Pulled the pads and they looked to have used appx 50% at this point. Not bad at all. Simply required removing the tires, two clips, two pins, and a spring.

Pulled the rotors off and had them surfaced at Infiniti. 2ea 22mm bolts to remove the caliper and a 12mm bolt was used to help remove the rotors

Installed the rotors, calipers and pads after cleaning the pins and using anti-squeal brake lube on the pins and pad backs.

Did the same thing for the rear but did NOT pull and turn the rear rotors. I had some initial concerns during brake in as it was overly clunking. Doing more 40-0 hard brake stops fixed it relatively quickly. Car is braking better than ever.

Unlike single-piston brakes you don't even have to remove the caliper if only replacing pads. What a great design. Even with replacing the rotors it was a simple task...other than the oppressive heat.

Full detailed steps for replacing pads can be found here: http://www.infinitig37.com/g37-change-brake-pads.html

Yeah, I love how easy they are to work on. The sedan is having brake problems now but I'm just going to drop it off. Wife is hard on the brakes and they are base anyway. I also don't have time to deal with them the next few weeks.

Hi I NEED to know if raybestos brake pads are compatible with 08g37s .. a mechanic I know used them on my g and all was good till I got squeeling from one of the pads. This mechanic is upsetting me I only have 22K on the car first pad change and he claims its the rotors but they were fine when he took the original stock pads off. Now its been 3 weeks and I notice no break dust but now my rotors are starting to look bad and i still got squeeling I think he messed up. Can I get some feed back because I'm going back to mechanic and get my money back. So is it possible that these pads are way to hard

Try greasing the pins. Else he may not have greased the shims on the pads themselves.
