ive read almost every thread i can find.
I know your going to say depends on how much power i want, and how i drive the car.
i daily her, not in winter though.
Turbo has bad seal, will be Pulling the motor.
I dont want oem turbos, i know your all going to say get 2'5 inch piping, msp, tb's and oem's , jwt dual pop and you'll be pushing 400rw ish.
would rather upgrade,
Going to buy :
MSP Manis
"BB Turbo _ _ _"
And 5 Bolt SZ DP's, will sell my 4 bolts obv.

Current Mods.
Stillen High Flow intake

700s/675r are probably as big as you want to go for a DD. only thing that would stop me from going with them on your setup is the stock internals, if you have the financial backup to rebuild a blown motor, if not, I'd go with something a bit smaller like the 550

nolimit is dead on, plus the 550 kit is perfect. they spool fast and make good power, with the 700 you will have lag, which no one likes.

For your purposes the 550's should be a good setup, I myself will be satisfied with the 500's whenever my oem's go unless by then I can get 550's for current 500 money.

Without a dual intake and larger intake piping, they will perform worse than the 550s: spool EXTRA slow and never reach their potential even when spooled.

I agree with this thought, it seems that for turbos this large you'd need all the breather mods (tb's, piping, dual intake) you said you didn't want to do because those turbos need the intake tract to be larger, and would surely need larger upgraded smics in order to see the benefits that size turbo gives. The stock intake tract just isn't going to be enough for the increased airflow.

you can send the stock turbos in for a big wheel conversion and rebuild and save some cash. i was quoted 1200 and change for rebuild and t28 conversion on my stockers.

This is absolutely not true, I've got HKS 2530s ( GT28Rs/2560) and they spool just fine with the stock intake piping 14.5 (WG boost) at 3500rpm and no drop off on top end.

This is a bad idea and I guarantee you these will spool, slower than the GT28Rs and will fall off on the top end very badly.

Honestly. are bb turbos with it?
Im going to be buying msp regardless of what turbo i get.

I was looking at z1 gt525 because its 1700$ AND sport 500 is like the same price..

But then BB turbos sky rocket to 2200 for a 530 basically.. then 550 is like 100$ more then 700 is like $100 more.. which gets me mad that there prices are all so close together.. like if i go ball bearing id have to sell my 4 bolts, and then buy 550's which i prolly will if i do go bb turbo. but for 100$ more i can have sport 700's. like its so hard to make decisions. plus i actually like turbo lag haha dont ask me, but i like feeling all the power between higher rpm's and all at once. i dont race or drag aswell, just some pulls here and there down back roads or merging on the high way. i need serious advice i have 1900 $ saved and i get paid this thursday another 500. so i can afford bigger turbos but i dont want to mess this up.

go with what i said, and BB turbos are over rated... they cost an crap load to rebuild and only spool a few hundred rpm sooner, which for the dd or street racer is nothing(especially you since you like lag!)... a journal bearing turbo only costs 200 or so to rebuild, a bb try 600+!

id really rather not buy bb turbos because il need new dp's and they cost alot more specially when i dont race and what not. just cruise and do pulls when im in the mood. would much rather put money towards other car parts. but if those "non bb" turbos arent good deff tell me!

and if i dont go bb should i go GT525? sport 600? sport 500?!

id go 500s, i had them a long time ago, good turbos! super fast spool... as for 600, idk if you understood me or were talking about something diff but i was saying it would cost 600+ to rebuild each turbo.

BB turbos are absolutely NOT overrated, why would everyone in the world be using BBs? All OEM turbos now days are BB, every single one (Bar some 3 world country model diesels). They not only spool faster but are more efficient the entire time they are running (which is all the time) BBs produce less drag than journal bearings, BBs also never need to be rebuilt if they are operated within the designed ranges. I don't know where you get your facts from ZXtacy but the entire automotive industry seems to disagree with you.

GSRteg: You have to decide what it is that you want out of your car. You MUST remember that you get what you pay for, the BBs wouldn't be so much more expensive if they weren't worth it.

BB turbos are better. Depending on your budget, check out Garrett's GTX line of turbos, as those are even better.

I think the 550 would be perfect for the OP's setup. Quick spool and will love the breather mods. Really can't go wrong with them on a stock block. You could always change them out for a set of 700s on your next build.

I've got a pair of JWT 530BB and they pull somewhere in the 435hp range tuned on 93 octane. I bought the car and found out nobody in town sells 93 octane.

It seemed the OP said he didn't want to do the extra breather mods beyond what he had- Godspeed smics and he said he'd get MSP manis, 5 bolt DP's and ...BB turbos.
He has exhaust breathing in mind, but does not seem to realize that intake breathing goes hand in hand, if not more so than the exhaust side.
To run the 550 and bigger turbos IMO he MUST upgrade the entire intake tract- dual intake, bigger smics, piping, and TB's before those big turbos do anything but piss him off... :gotme

If you are going to spend the $$ you might as well make the most out of your modifications and do it the right way. Otherwise knowing you are shorting yourself on horsepower is going to get to you and you will find yourself doing it later to pull that extra bit out of it you know you are missing. If you budget will allow you might as well plan on making it worth your effort. I spent a lot of dough for my car already fixed up and I'm going to spend the extra $ to do push it as far as I can with what I got on those JWT 530BB that are on mine. I've got the fuel mods and the intake mods but it has the factory Stillen exhaust. I like the factory exhaust and want to keep it original but am looking to change out the test pipes and x pipe to get better flow.
