Ok guys here it is.My rb20 is running rough at idle and when I give it shots of throttle in all gears.Feels like I have it in to high of a gear and I'm going up a hill. The turbo doesn't seem as responsive either like I'm not hitting the revs to spool it as fast.

I am debating a few things here but I wanted some fellow input before I trouble diagnose till I drop.

I am thinking of checking a few things,1 being charge pipes and couplers but ths shouldn't keep the turbo from spooling right.2.AAC valve fault check,3 Spark Plugs,4 Coil Packs,5 timing,6 Valves???Maybe,Hope not isn't noisy at all,7 My Vac gauge is at about 17 could i have a vac leak causing this?? Sound like a newb here but i am and where I live noone has an rb lol I'm the only running rb in a 240 in Atlantic Canada lol Plus I detail cars I am not a mechanic nd this stuff is confsing me.......

is this a sudden problem or did it come on gradually? What have you recently changed in the car? I would guess timing or MAF or even fuel. Maybe a clogged injector.

Yeah the problem started all of a sudden last night and seems to be getting lil worse, when the car is cold it seems a lil better too,and it wasn't always idling rough just started after work this evening...it's a weird problem.

try unplugging the maf. thats a easy diagnosis for nissans (seems like all suffer) or check fuel pressure. the fact pressure regulators fail a lot (this is what i have seen) try clamping the return line. thatll increase the pressure and might help the idle. if it smoothes you might have a bad fpr, and need a nismo fpr.

change plugs and see if that helps...else it could possibly be a coil or an ignitior if the problem gets worse the warmer the motor gets.

Do the easiest things first. Check over your entire motor, make sure nothing looks out of place. Next check your ecu to see if your getting any codes. Hopefully you will flash a code and then you will know exactly what your problem is. Next should be timing, assuming your idle is stable. The last would be checking electronic components, ie coilpacks, injectors, maf, iacv, engine temp sensor.

By the way the more info you give us the better we can help you out. BE SPECIFIC

i think that its probably missing on a cylinder if its running rough, do youre best to try to feel the header/ manifold to see if you can feel one cylinder slightly colder than the others. if its running really rich maybe the bov is slightly stuck open and youre recirculating lots of air the car is ecu is trying to compensate for by adding fuel, just a thought, i think its electrical ignitor or coilpack

I got a set of 20 coil packs. Don't know how good they are as the motor they came off of was already pulled when I got it. I was thinkin about changeing them to my car, but mine seems to be running pretty good, so I prolly won't need them.

If you do, let me know.

Hey man, sorry, but I didn't get those coils out today. Will get them out tomorrow though.

My little one had a fever and I had to stay home with him till the wife came home at lunch. Again. Sorry.

Turns out it was actually the injector in cylinder #1.I think the plug wasnt connected right cause I fiddled with it while the car was running and all of a sudden I heard the cylinde rifre up and the car has been working great ever since.

Thanks for the help everyone...
