ive had my z for about a year now and ive trying to figure out all the after market items on the engine because my turbos spool way too nice to for the engine to be stock abd my friend has a completly stock tt and they sound and feel nothing alike.

sometimes i feel i got bov's and i know i dont.

so i have a k&n intake and stillen exhaust.. is that the big difference maker?

could it be a chip?

what else can it be?

So you have the stock recirculating valves that you can see through the opening in the front bumper. Or by taking off the nose cover and peering down. They are probably replaced by aftermarket blow off valves in the stock location. Did you check there?

If not it must have bigger turbos installed, what boost are you running right now?

Once I thought I had a really loud spooling sound, turned out to be an untightened hose clamp on the turbo piping.

you would notice negative aspect of performance with a loose hose. you arent giving a very good despriction... what rpm do you start building boost? where are you at full boost? what is full boost? other supporting mods?

its not a negative effect and the sounds start once i hit 0 boost and thats what im trying to figure out, what other mods are on this car that make it sound like this.

so you hear the turbos spool once you start building boost.... sounds like a normal situation to me? i really dont understand what youre asking here.... do you jsut hear excess wind noise or soemthing? something like youre fan clutch locking up and your spinnign yoru fan at leik 5k rpms? you should be able to hear your turbos spool....

ive got stock turbos with a full 3" exhaust and i hear my turbos spool. i love the sound. nothing out of the ordinary. just check your dp's and make sure the bolts are tight, if you have a leak, you will hear the spool louder than with no leak. i had a leak, my top 2 bolts some how came out of the passenger dp. after replacing the bolts, the spool went back to normal.

and no, no leak.

I know once I got a pod air filter instead of the factory airbox it made a big difference. I can hear it sucking up a lot more air and when i let off throttle it sounds BOV-ish, especially before i put the nose piece back on. Maybe you're hearing this?
